Open Art Freiburg 2022

Artists realize self-organized and independent concepts and projects at different locations within the OPEN ART Festival:

In private businesses or in a public park, a supermarket, laundromat or bakery, an apartment or a church.

OPEN ART means to meet contemporary art at unexpected places in the city, to be surprised, irritated and inspired by it. Artists from the Freiburg region or with a connection to the region from a wide variety of disciplines enter into an artistic dialogue with a wide variety of places such as craft workshops, retail stores, grocery stores, restaurants and public squares, urban spaces such as meadows and lakes and many other possible locations. The guiding principle of OPEN ART is to locate art in everyday living space. This public art offer opens up a wide field of action - people are reached in their everyday life. At the same time, OPEN ART confronts art with the everyday.
