Nouvelle Vague, the renowned bossa nova project founded in 2003 by Marc Collin and the late Olivier Libaux, has become a musical phenomenon over the past two decades.
Originally conceived as a unique homage to bossa nova-style post-punk songwriting, Nouvelle Vague's debut album gained unexpected worldwide recognition. The special blend of melancholic post-punk and bossa nova, coupled with their daring French reinterpretation, made the band unique.
Over the years, the musicians have released several albums, constantly developing their sound. They have also collaborated with a variety of talented female vocalists, including Camille, Mélanie Pain and Phoebe Killdeer, who each bring their own charm and personality to the band's music.
The new album, inspired by singer Alonya's rendition of The Clash's "Should I Stay Or Should I Go", continues the project's tradition of reinterpreting classics. It emphasizes the timeless importance and enduring influence of the musical legacy of Nouvelle Vague.
