Central German Christmas - polychoral music by Michael Praetorius, Johann Hermann Schein and Melchior Vulpius

The John Sheppard Ensemble celebrates the tenth anniversary of its sing-along choir project with festive Christmas music: polychoral music by Michael Praetorius, Johann Hermann Schein and Melchior Vulpius will resound from the four galleries of the Christuskirche and in the chancel - and the audience is also invited to sing along.

Supported by an instrumental ensemble with viols, flutes, shawms, organs and trombones, soloists Sonja Bühler and Angelika Lenter (soprano), Tobias Knaus (alto), Tiago Oliveira (tenor) and Karsten Müller (bass) will sing and perform Christmas classics such as Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her, Es ist ein Ros entsprungen and Ein Kind gebor'n zu Bethlehem together with the John Sheppard Ensemble and the 150-strong sing-along choir.
