Duration of the master class: 10 am to 6 pm
Friederike Stahmer is the artistic director and founder of the award-winning girls' choir of the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin. She has been a professor of children's and youth choir conducting at the Hanover College of Music, Drama and Media since 2009, where she is responsible for the master's degree course of the same name. She also holds a teaching position for children's choir conducting at the Berlin University of the Arts. As a sought-after expert in the field of children's and youth choir conducting, she regularly gives lectures, conducts seminars in Germany and abroad and acts as a juror at renowned choir competitions.
Her artistic career led her to study school music and vocal pedagogy at the Berlin University of the Arts. She also studied economics at the Humboldt University in Berlin. She received important impulses for her work through master classes with Volker Hempfling, Gary Graden and James Jordan as well as through her further training at the Gordon Institute for Music Learning in the USA.
