MAHALA - Dances from Southeast Europe / North Macedonia

The Roma of the Balkans have always absorbed and processed the folklore of the peoples they came into contact with. Fiery sounds and plaintive melodies as well as rousing and incredibly lively music shape the character of this folklore in its mixture of traditional and modern influences. Wind instruments often set the rhythm. They are spirited people, masterful singers and musicians, passionate dancers, excellent craftsmen and born traders. Traditionally, they moved and still move through Europe as nomads - an invitation to be carried away and touched by the intensity of the music and dance and to tap into the sources of our inner strength and joie de vivre. The seminar is open to people who enjoy movement, those interested in the subject and dance instructors. A dance partner is not required.

Course leader: Ulatowski, Holger. The instructor is a dance teacher and lecturer at the Friedel Kloke-Eibl Institute. More at www.tanzdozent-ulatowski.de
