The worldwide tour that will mark Umberto Tozzi's farewell to the live stage begins with a brilliant debut in Rome, Caracalla Spa and Venice, Piazza San Marco.

After 50 years of a successful career in Italy and all parts of the world, with more than 80 million albums sold and over 2,000 live concerts, the exceptional artist is bidding farewell to the boards that mean the world.

On March 15, 2024 in Paris, at L'Olympia during a press conference, Umberto Tozzi not only surprises with the dates of the tour, but also brings along a new, previously unreleased version of a song that he recorded together with Giuliano Sangiorgi (Negramaro, poet, singer and songwriter): "Donna Amante Mia".

The charismatic and creative singer and songwriter Umberto Tozzi has become an icon of Italian music for generations thanks to his evergreens. In 1968, Tozzi started out as a guitarist in the Turin rock group 'Off Sound', whose members were 16 years old at the time, just like Tozzi. He then went on a nationwide tour with Adriano Pappalardo, whose group comprised a total of 13 musicians. In 1974, at the age of 22, Umberto Tozzi began writing songs for others. That year, together with Damiano Dattoli, he wrote Un corpo un'anima, which was sung by Wess and Dori Ghezzi at Canzonissima, where it won at the first attempt.
After this success as a songwriter, the next phase began, in which he also began to sing his own songs.

Tozzi's big breakthrough came at the end of the 1970s with a hit hat-trick:
1977 he landed an international bestseller with Ti amo, followed by Tu in 1978 and the successful Gloria in 1979. For the production of the album Gloria, Tozzi took an unusual path for the time. The album was produced in the Union Studio in Munich with exclusively non-Italian musicians. Probably the best known of these were guitarist Lee Ritenour and jazz pianist Greg Mathieson, who was also responsible for all the arrangements.

Who doesn't know the unforgettable "Ti Amo", which has been covered countless times and has broken all records in the charts, as well as "Tu" and "Gloria", the worldwide hit that was chosen as the soundtrack in Martin Scorsese's "Wolf of Wallstreet" and Ariand Lyne's "Flashdance" and many other films and series. In 1982 Tozzi won a Golden Globe and was nominated for a Grammy.

On 23.01.2025 Umberto Tozzi will come to the Konzerthaus (concert hall) in Freiburg with his band & orchestra.
