Sylvia Wetzel interprets the "five pillars of life" for our time. She shows how we can build and promote them and how we can cope better with crises and changes.
Many people are unsettled these days. Especially in times of crisis, it is difficult to find orientation. From a Buddhist perspective, life is "tragic and sublime" because all conditions are constantly changing. What can give us stability in the ups and downs of life? Sylvia Wetzel interprets the "five pillars of life" known in sociology for our time: family and close relationships, living and neighborhood, work and leisure, health network and shared values. The well-known Buddhist meditation teacher shows how we can build up and promote these pillars so that they support us - not only in difficult times. A book that makes it clear how we can deal constructively with small and large changes and cope better with crises both in our immediate environment and in the world.
Sylvia Wetzel, who was born in Wolfach, has been studying Buddhism for more than 45 years. She trained in the Tibetan tradition and practiced as a nun for two years. As a publicist, author and meditation teacher, she speaks and writes about Buddhism and teaches relaxation, meditation and Buddhism. With her way of reflecting on cultural conditions and gender roles, she is a pioneer of Buddhism in the West.
