Smart and fiery music for little ears - because even the little ones deserve great music. And even the grown-ups like to listen to it again and again.
Boris Lau and his band from Freiburg present their second album. Cheeky, wild and fiery, it tells fantastic stories of protective spirits, the great festival of trolls and Dracula's new love.
Because when exciting stories are told with catchy melodies, even the youngest listeners prick up their ears and become enthusiastic musical treasure hunters.
With their new album "Drachenkind", the children's song band "Lauschelieder" wins over their young and older listeners with a lovingly colorful mix of musical styles such as rock, funk, jazz, salsa and swing. The lyrics tell fantastic stories suitable for children: Gorilla Rudi becomes a rock star, the sheep and his friends have a wild party and the trolls take the children into the world of mythical creatures. It is impressive how the catchy songs make even the very youngest children listen with rapt attention and encourage them to sing, dance and join in.
The band "Lauschelieder" was founded by young Freiburg parents who share their enthusiasm for music with their children by composing and producing children's songs together: Dad Boris writes the music, mom Inga does the artwork, they write the lyrics together and the older children sing in the children's choir or help diligently with the production. Long-time musician friend and jazz singer Maggie Horrer and many guest musicians bring the songs to life. Composer Boris emphasizes: "Children's music can also be musically colourful and sophisticated. Our Lauschelieder are like artistic hidden object pictures in which there is always something new to discover." And indeed, the unconventional keys, exciting changes of time signature and creative instrumentation make the Lauschelieder songs a smart and fiery delight time and time again - even for big ears!
The Lauschelieder debut album, "Tanzmaus", was released in 2015 and was recognized as "good music for children" by the Association of German Music Schools in 2017. The second album, "Drachenkind", was awarded the same accolade in 2021, and the song "Die Geister von Uluru" was awarded the "Poldi" prize.
