Let's talk: exchanging experiences and ideas against racism and sexism

Free entry

Organized by: Project "Speak out! Against Racism and Sexism", funded by the federal program "Live Democracy!" Realized by: Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg, in cooperation with: Feministische Geschichtswerkstatt Freiburg e.V., Fairburg e.V. "Let's talk!" Invitation to an intercultural exchange on racism and sexism. A participatory storytelling café. Experiences of racism and discrimination as a woman, transgender or queer person are part of everyday life for many people with a history of migration and for people who are seen as "others" or "strangers". However, racism and discrimination are also a reality for people from the majority society. They encounter it as witnesses in everyday situations, experience it in the family or at work. And even people who experience discrimination themselves are not free from discriminating against others. On this evening, we want to get into conversation with each other. Whether minority or majority, with a German background or migration history, women or other genders: only together can we develop ideas to counter discrimination such as racism and sexism and change social narratives. - Registration required.
