Concert "Не было ветру - There was no wind..."

The Russian Choir of the University campus Freiburg has been singing folk songs with spiritual and secular origins for 95 years. The songs are about everyday village life, about love, joy and pain. They are mocking,
dance and lullabies, sung legends and spiritual songs as well as songs about nature and the vastness of the landscape.

With our songs we give a musical insight into life in old Russia. The songs of the Old Believers are of particular importance. Our repertoire also includes Ukrainian, Baltic and Bashkir songs.

Thus, the diversity and independence of the different ethnic groups are in the foreground and send a signal against any great power ideologies, especially in these times.
