Concert | Piano duo
Thursday, 12/06/2025 / 07:00 PM / Goethe-Institut e.V.
Free entry
On Thursday, June 12, pianists Noémie Berz and Noémi Foucard cordially invite you to immerse yourself in a Parisian salon at the beginning of the 20th century and sway from a pavane to a waltz, amidst dreams, myths and wondrous tales.
The focus of the program is the Parisian composer Mel Bonis, whose fine writing in the post-romantic style contributed significantly to the development of Impressionism. Mel Bonis is accompanied by her famous contemporaries Maurice Ravel, with his famous work for piano four hands Ma mère l'Oye, which transports us to the world of childhood, and Sergei Rachmaninov, who, in the Parisian context, cannot hide the influence of the French style in his deeply Slavic compositional style.
Like the little Thumbelina from Ma mère l'Oye, dear listeners, you will walk along nostalgic paths where the song of the cuckoo echoes the sound of the bells of the childhood village...
