Concert Ensemble COPLA & GUITARRA A SEIS

FREIBURG - The Gitarre-Freiburg e.V. concert series will feature two classical guitar sextets that are almost unique in their kind on Sunday, May 25, 6:00 p.m. in the Church of Peace: the southern French ensemble COPLA and GUITARRA A SEIS from the Zurich/Basel/Freiburg area. You can hear works by Bach, Bizet, Albéniz, Boccherini, Saint-Saens, Piazzolla and Bernstein.
The sextet GUITARRA A SEIS consists of renowned guitarists from Germany, Switzerland, Poland and Brazil, all of whom work as lecturers at music institutes in Switzerland: Matthias Kläger, Jens Stibal, Harald Stampa, Adam Olenczak, Tobias Krebs and Edmauro de Oliveira. They regularly use a wide range of instruments, including octave, third and bass guitar, requinto and fifth bass guitar, to interpret their own transcriptions from different eras and styles as well as new original works written for the ensemble. Their latest CD was released on the Naxos label in 2022.

The COPLA ensemble also consists of six guitarists and was founded in the south of France in 1999; a third generation of musicians has now joined the group. The sextet offers a rich palette of dynamics and timbres, their repertoire ranges from traditional music to classical music from the 18th century to the present day, with Spanish, South American and French music in the foreground.

Tickets at €20/€10 at Reservix or at the box office, reservations at info@gitarrenverein-freiburg.de.
