Conflict training: Dealing with conspiracy believers

What to do if close relatives or good friends suddenly believe in conspiracy myths and this leads to relationship crises? this seminar is about developing strategies to deal with such conflicts. constructive communication can make a valuable contribution to a peaceful society. It is important to understand how supporters of conspiracy theories think and argue. We alternate theoretical input on the psychological background of conspiracy narratives with practical exercises. The aim is to develop solution-oriented options for action and thus avoid arguments and relationship crises.
Course leader: Pohl, Sarah. The speaker is head of the Central Counseling Center for Worldview Issues of the State of Baden-Württemberg (ZEBRA/BW), and together with Isabella Dichtel she wrote "Alles Spinner oder was? How to deal with conspiracy believers more calmly" (Vandenhoek and Ruprecht 2021).
