klimafit - "Climate change on our doorstep and what can I do"?

Price: 20.00€

In cooperation with the Environmental Protection Agency of the City of Freiburg - All around the world, people are calling for decisive action to protect the climate. Climate change is already having an unmistakable impact on our everyday lives. This presents us as private individuals, but also our municipalities, with new challenges. The current extreme weather events clearly show that something is changing and action must be taken! Climate protection and climate adaptation are key tasks for local authorities. In order to be able to take on these tasks, local authorities need citizens who get involved in the community, familiarize themselves with the background and know how they can actively tackle climate change in their personal environment. This is where klimafit comes in: On six interactive course evenings, you will be familiarized with the scientific basics on climate change and climate protection. The focus is on changes that climate change is bringing about globally, in Germany and in your region and provides knowledge and action skills on climate change on your doorstep. In addition, the course provides suggestions for joint action in climate protection, accompanies you in concrete CO2 savings and offers the opportunity to network with like-minded people and relevant actors in the community. To this end, the course not only involves local climate protection management, but also invites initiatives and experts from the region to exchange ideas with you directly. WWF Germany and the Helmholtz Research Alliance Regional Climate Change and Man (REKLIM) have developed this course. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) as part of the National Climate Initiative. Successful participation is awarded with a certificate at the end of the course. - Registration required.
