The documentary Moriyama-San by Italian-French filmmakers Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine follows the life of Tokyo native Mr. Moriyama in a house designed by Pritzker Prize winner Ryūe Nishizawa. Surrounded by Tokyo's lively everyday life, the microcosm of the experimental building forms a quiet island. The film portrays an unusual urban recluse and creative free spirit who fills the house with life and subtly questions our understanding of contemporary living. A must-see for architecture enthusiasts. (Source: AD; 25.04.2018; Lennart Franz)

Wim Wenders' film Perfect Days follows toilet cleaner Hirayama in his daily work. His free time is dedicated to music, books and photography. Hirayama's seemingly abstemious life is characterized by the beauty of small moments. Rare and impossible to capture, he tries to catch a glimpse of them every day. Perfect Days premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival in May 2023. This was followed by an Oscar nomination for Best International Film for Japan in 2024. The film will be shown in original language with subtitles.
