Kawacaj - Reading for Ukraine - Donation campaign at the Lange Tafel

"Kawacaj" was the name of our Ukrainian-German meeting café, which offered exchange and support for new arrivals in spring 2022 after Russia launched a full-scale war of aggression against its neighboring country on 24 February 2022. In 2023, it became a Sunday studio for families who met to paint, craft and stamp together. In February 2025, Ukraine has been at war for three years. Tonight, we are inviting you to the Literaturhaus together with our friends from cultural institutions to counter the violence and powerlessness with the means of literature, poetry and conversation. We will read poems over soup and bread and display postcards and posters by Ukrainian artists.

Donations are still urgently needed to help the people in Ukraine and in our twin city of Lviv. The city of Freiburg has set up a donation account to which all proceeds from the evening will be transferred.
