Kasper and the pirate of the seven seas - Zehntscheune, Gassenweinfest Merdingen

Book tickets

From September 5 to 8, 2025, the wonderful Gassenweinfest will once again take place in Merdingen. The Freiburger Puppenbühne will be performing four different plays for families over the course of the festival.

There is great excitement in the harbor of San Sansibar. A huge ship sails in and flies the pirate flag. The pirate of the seven seas returns to the kingdom with gold. But oh, what a shock: as a reward for his services, the pirate wants the king's daughter as his wife. Luckily, Kasper and his clever dog Bello join forces to prevent the princess from marrying the pirate. The audience eagerly follows whether the two friends manage to fend off the cunning pirate and unexpectedly help the impoverished king to much greater riches in his search for the legendary treasure in the magic bay ...
Not only the imaginative puppets and costumes, but also the wonderful stage sets create a cheerful atmosphere when the Freiburg puppeteer David Minuth pulls out all the stops of his acting skills backstage.

Dr. Johannes, Karin and David Minuth are known far beyond the borders of Freiburg for their fairy-tale puppet shows. They write their own texts and also design and create the magical puppets.
