KAPELLE PETRA - HAMM in the fall Tour 2024

The trio around singer Opa, bassist Der Tägliche Siepe and drummer Ficken Schmidt (who are joined live by the stage sculpture Gazelle to form a quartet) are busy and creative like few other local acts. And that's how "The Four Seasons" came about.
A concept that deals with spring, summer, fall and winter in the broadest sense in terms of music, content and release cycles. An EP with four songs will be released at the beginning of each season - starting with "Der Frühling" on March 19.
Kapelle Petra manages the feat of not making the songs too monothematic; when you listen to them, you are amazed at how varied and intelligent the band plays with this basic idea. On "Der Frühling", a song like "Reißt die Fenster auf" (Open the Windows) makes a fairly explicit reference to the seasonal tonality, while songs like "Wirtschaftsflüchtling" (Economic Refugee) or "Meine Zeit" (My Time) require a little more transfer performance, the reference is revealed more between the lines: "In the 4-season context, we definitely didn't want to just describe the weather and the typical quarterly tree cycles of a year lyrically," emphasizes the grandfather responsible for the lyrics. "Above all, it was about personal snapshots that are actually seasonal. We deliberately wrote and recorded the songs in the respective season."
