J.Lamotta

J.Lamotta is an Israeli songwriter, producer and singer who moves in the musical spheres of pop, RnB and hip-hop. Through her international releases via Jakarta Records (Berlin), Jazzy Sport (Tokyo), P-Vine (Tokyo) and Kamea (Tel-Aviv), Lamotta has built an international audience (250k monthly listeners on Spotify).

J.Lamotta discovered her love for jazz and soul music during her high school years with singing and piano courses and jazz singing studies at the Tel Aviv Conservatory. She has since released several albums and has toured Europe and the world, including performing at the famous Japanese jazz club Blue Note Tokyo. Lamotta moved to Berlin in 2014. There she founded her first band and released her first works. Despite the immense importance and influence Berlin had as a creative hotspot, Lamotta decided to move back to Tel Aviv in March 2021 and embarked on a new path. She released her very first album in her native language, Hebrew. This courageous step back to her roots was also positively received by the press and her fans in Europe. Significantly, one of her songs was chosen for the TV series Gossip Girl in 2022.
Since her time in Berlin, Lamotta and her Berlin-based band, consisting of Doron Segal (keys), Roman Klobe Baranga (bass), Eric Owusu (perc) and Nir Sabag (drums), have also performed in Germany (e.g. XJAZZ Festival) and thrilled audiences with their contemporary soul, fed by the sampling-based beats of hip-hop, a catchy drum aesthetic, an incisive voice and incredibly intimate and direct lyrics.
