Jazzhaus Big Band - Live 2024

The Jazzhaus Big Band is the newest big band on the Jazzhaus jazz scene and, alongside the Jazzhaus Youth Orchestra, a grooving pillar of the Jazzhaus Association. The founding of the big band in 2023 thus marked another milestone in the Jazzhaus' rich history.
As leader, Bernhard G. Hofmann works with the band to hone the repertoire of classic big band sounds and modern arrangements. Most of the members have their roots in the Jazzhaus School Jazz Orchestra, which became the Jazzhaus Youth Orchestra in 2021. As a result, the musicians are united by a harmonious spirit. The Jazzhausverein now has two big bands of its own, which rehearse in cooperation with and at the Freiburg Jazz & Rock Schools.

The aim of the Jazzhaus Big Band is to be a vital addition to the jazz scene and to make a valuable contribution to cultural diversity in Jazzhaus.
