Jazzfestival | Vincent Peirani Trio

Accordionist Vincent Peirani is once again shuffling the cards. Typical for him, because the Frenchman has proven one thing time and again throughout his career: In his boundless musical world, the next step is always the one you least expect from him. The initial spark for his "Jokers" project was a carte blanche from NDR to try out something completely new at two concerts. Peirani opted for the trio, an almost sacred format in jazz. But even this setting only served to break with his conventions. His comrades-in-arms, the Italian Federico Casagrande on guitar and the Israeli Ziv Ravitz on drums, proved to be ideal partners. Like Peirani, both have a broad musical horizon and a particular penchant for rock and electronic music in addition to their jazz background. At numerous concerts, the group explored and refined their sonic possibilities and quickly developed an irresistible sound.
