This series of organ concerts has been an integral part of Freiburg's summer cultural life for over 90 years. The unique organ installation in the wonderful space of the cathedral is a magnet for outstanding international performers and organ enthusiasts from all over the world. The symbiosis of space and sound inspires and fascinates performers and listeners alike - creating very special sound experiences and thrilling concert experiences.

Jonathan Scott is one of Britain's most distinguished organists and is internationally renowned for his exceptional virtuosity and his artful transposition of symphonic works to the pipe organ. With his broad repertoire and characteristic style, he delights audiences and the specialist press alike - BBC Radio 3 described him as "the leading British organist".

As Associate Artist of the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, he delights a large and diverse audience with his regular lunchtime concerts. Together with his brother Tom, he forms the Scott Brothers Duo, whose YouTube channel has over 90 million views - one of the most watched organ music platforms in the world.

Jonathan Scott's concert schedule regularly takes him to prestigious venues in the UK, Germany, France, Estonia, Hungary, Norway, Finland, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium, Latvia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore. Recent highlights include performances with the National Chinese Orchestra of Taiwan, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the ceremonial opening of the restored organs in the Marienbasilika Kevelaer and the All Saints Church in Warsaw as well as a solo concert at the Royal Albert Hall London as part of the BBC Proms 2024.

Jonathan Scott was born in Manchester and received his musical training at Chetham's School of Music as well as in the UK, the USA and the Netherlands. He is a winner of the WT Best Scholarship and the Gold Medal of the Worshipful Company of Musicians and holds the honorary title of Freeman of the City of London.
