Information event on the election of the migrant women's advisory board

The Migrant Women's Advisory Council of the City of Freiburg is a municipal body that represents the interests of migrants in Freiburg and advises the municipal committee for migration and integration.
Next spring, probably on May 25, 2025, the 19-member Migrant Women's Advisory Council will be re-elected for five years. Around 38,000 Freiburg residents without a German passport are eligible to vote, more than ever before. In addition, German citizens living in Freiburg with a migration background (naturalized citizens and ethnic German repatriates) can also take part in the election upon application.
All eligible voters who have reached the age of 18 may stand for election. The person must be able to speak and understand German.

The Office for Migration and Integration (AMI) is offering several information events over the next few weeks for anyone who can imagine standing as a candidate. They will take place in the Schauinsland room at Fehrenbachallee 12 in Stühlinger town hall and last one and a half hours.
- Saturday, 14.12.2024 from 14:00 to 15:30
- Monday, 16.12.2024 from 19:00 to 20:30
- Wednesday, 18.12.2024 from 19:00 to 20:30
The event will take place in the Schauinsland room in the town hall in Stühlinger (Fehrenbachallee 12, 79106 Freiburg).
At the event, members of the current Migrant Women's Advisory Council will report on their work and personal experiences. The AMI will also provide information about the time frame of the election campaign and will be available to answer questions.
