Breast cancer information day

Free entry

Every year, around 70,000 women in Germany are diagnosed with breast cancer, the most commonly diagnosed type of cancer in women. Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October draws worldwide attention to prevention, early detection and research. This month not only serves to raise awareness, but also actively encourages people to take the necessary preventative measures. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Freiburg University Medical Center is therefore inviting those affected and interested to an information day with an extensive program on the topic of breast cancer on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Participation is free of charge and registration is not necessary.

Visitors to the Breast Cancer Info Day can look forward to a varied program of talks on topics such as early detection, genetic risk factors and treatment options. The program is complemented by practical workshops on topics such as breast self-examination, yoga and breathing and relaxation techniques in the context of cancer therapy. There will also be guided tours of the Breast Center and information stands on health and psychosocial topics. Experts will also be available for individual discussions and consultations.
