Program

The art of piano improvisation is multifaceted and dazzling. Over the centuries, it has appeared in a wide variety of guises, sometimes in bright colors, sometimes fading and disappearing in the thicket of the world of sound. On this evening, concertgoers can immerse themselves in a world of spontaneity, the unexpected and the incomplete. Improvisations from the most diverse contexts, epochs and styles - from baroque sounds to improvisations on poems to the accompaniment of a silent film - will emerge from the moment. Laurens Patzlaff's own "composed" works will appear as a counterpoint and merge with the impromptu playing. In addition, the audience will have the opportunity to contribute their own musical suggestions to the concert and help shape the course of the evening.
