Freeways + Cherokee - Dark Skies over Europe

The Canadian hard rock anomaly FREEWAYS is getting ready to land on European soil for the third time - and Freiburg will be visited for the first time. We are proud to present the Canadian high-flyers at ArTik.

The current album is called "Dark Sky Sanctuary". The exuberant verve of FREEWAYS is on full display here, only they have become a little darker and gloomier. On "Dark Sky Sanctuary", the quartet is driven by a fire that lets them explore both their livelier and more aggressive side as well as their more withdrawn and thoughtful side. Somehow, "Dark Sky Sanctuary" is rougher and more polished. A sonic sanctuary for anyone who still has hope for heavy rock as an authentically emotional art form. CHEROKEE have already played at ArTik as part of our Pergola Open Air. And the extremely dynamic rock band from Cologne, known for their lively fusion of classic rock, hard rock, blues and NWOBHM influences, has won over a lot of new fans in Freiburg. With a sound that is deeply rooted in the traditions of the 1970s, but also carries the raw energy of 1980s metal, the band delivers powerful riffs, rousing melodies and electrifying live performances.
