A spring-like winter fairy tale, told in soft colors against a snow-white background.
"Let's play a little in our old age," cried Marja, "but we don't want to build a snowman, we want to build a snow maiden!"
"You're right, wife," replied Ivan, putting on his hat and stepping into the courtyard with his wife.
There they set to work. They rolled a big, thick ball out of the snow for the belly,
put a round snowball on top for the head, eyes, nose, mouth, done!
But what's that? The snow girl has moved! This really is the most beautiful winter ever! And what does a snow maiden do when spring comes?

Lovingly designed details are an indispensable part of a good play in the local puppet theater. There were plenty of them this time too, until a bursting flower announced the arrival of spring, which was celebrated with a leap over the fire. First the brave Vera, then the fat Olga and finally Malenka the gazelle.
