Eva Strasser: Wildhof - Open air reading and talk with Leo Boquoi
Tuesday, 20/05/2025 / 07:30 PM / Hinterhof - Günterstalstraße 55
On this evening, the view expands from the Wiehrem backyard to the Black Forest: in Eva Strasser's debut novel "Wildhof" (Wagenbach, 2025), it hums, glows and smells so impressively that you imagine yourself in the forest while reading.
Lina is traveling light. She has no intention of staying. What awaits her in her hometown weighs heavily. Years ago, her twin sister Luise disappeared without a trace, and now her parents have been killed in an accident. She is forced to return, tidy up, investigate, bury and close.
In her search for a buyer for her parents' house, she rediscovers what seemed to have disappeared forever. In a present in which she is held by the sun-drenched forest and old friendships, she scrapes the mossy past free with both hands - and with it her own future. The author, who grew up in the Black Forest herself, will be in conversation with Leo Boquoi from the Literaturhaus team.
