The Town Musicians of Bremen RELOADED: "We can find something better than death anywhere" by Martin Heckmanns, directed by Regine Effinger

Donkeys, dogs, cats and chickens, all without prospects, exploited and beaten or having fled, join forces, try to form a band - and hope for a better life. The troupe becomes a community against capitalist exploitation, the animals declare war on the superiority of Homo sapiens... But isn't violence a solution?

Martin Heckmanns' exuberant fantasy of upheaval celebrates exuberance, contradictions and confrontation in a time characterized by fear. The author gives the animals voices and songs and puts their rulers in need of explanation. And finally, in visions of a good death, he finds hope for a liberated coexistence.
