Duo evening Philip Morris Huang, violin & Ryo Yamanishi, piano - works by: Schubert, Brahms, Franck, Wieniawski

Book tickets

The evening begins with Johannes Brahms' Violin Sonata No. 1 in G major, the "Rain Song Sonata". This lyrical work, inspired by Brahms' deep love of nature, unfolds a warm, melodious sound world characterized by deep melancholy and tender hope. Henryk Wieniawski's "Fantaisie brillante über Faust" is followed by a dramatic and virtuosic work that shows a completely different side of Romanticism: here the focus is on the gripping drama and the enchanting virtuoso series of the violin. After the interval, the program turns to the simple elegance and deep emotionality of Franz Schubert's Impromptus Op. 142 No. 2 and No. 4. The crowning finale is César Franck's Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major - a work that celebrates the perfect partnership between violin and piano like no other.
Philip Morris Huang, German-Polish-Taiwanese violinist, won two first prizes at The Muse Competition in 2019, second prize at the North International Music Competition in 2021 and the Grand Prize at the Music Competition Online. He received his musical training from Prof. Jörg Hoffman, Prof. Gottfried von der Goltz in Freiburg and Prof. Andreas Janke at Zurich University of the Arts.
Ryo Yamanishi, award-winning Japanese pianist, impresses with his brilliant technique and deep musical intuition. He won first prize at the sixth "International Lake Constance Music Competition" and the "International Salzburg Mozart Competition in Japan", among others. Ryo Yamanishi has performed as a soloist with the Südwestdeutsche Kammerorchester Pforzheim, the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz and the Kurpfälzische Kammerorchester Mannheim.
