The cantata "Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen" (BWV 12), composed by Johann Sebastian Bach in 1726, could be described as "consolation music" of an unusually personal nature.
In contrast to this very intimate, touching work, in the cantata "Alles nur nach Gottes Willen" (BWV 72) Bach emphatically emphasizes submission to God's will as the prerequisite for all salvation.
