The cross at the lemon press - the Betzenhausen district (guided tour)

Price: 12.00€

This district has a surprising amount of greenery away from the busy Sundgauallee. This is because the popular Seepark lies on the edge of the district. Until 1908, Betzenhausen was a poor but independent community that had once belonged to Freiburg and had returned "to the mother's arms faithfully and lind". The tour shows how much the village, which has a long history, has changed as a result of the war and urban planning. However, an old core around the picturesque St. Thomas Church and its lime tree has been preserved to this day. Historical photos bring back to life an idyll that has almost disappeared. A mysterious bishop's murder, a spherical landmark and an unusual church roof arouse curiosity about a modern district with an exciting history. Long walking distance! - Registration required.
