The feeling is in the ceramic belly mixture

Who do I secretly feel crouching on my shoulders, what would my invisible companion look like and where is my sense of security? A feeling can take on different shapes and colors or meet us in our imagination in the form of an animal. Together we want to invent such hybrid creatures by combining human and animal forms or inventing completely new creatures. Based on sketches, photos or collages we bring with us, the ideas will be translated into a sculptural form. We will learn how to use the simple sausage technique with a few tricks to create large, thin-walled yet stable figures. We will then paint the figures several times with colorful sintered enamels. We will also show how a copper oxide solution can be used to create depth in the surfaces after firing. Anna Dorothea Klug studied ceramics in Halle and the USA. Her drawings and watercolors serve as models for her ceramic sculptures, some of which are life-size, which she later assembles into surreal worlds in installations.

Lunch is included in the course fee.
