On September 27 and 28, 2024, the Center for Popular Culture and Music(ZPKM) at the University campus Freiburg invites you to the conference "Clubsterben. Socio-economic change and urban music cultures".

Music clubs are urban places of popular entertainment and as such are the subject of cultural and social science research as well as cultural economic and political practice. The conference examines the causes of "club death", the debates and conflicts associated with it and the significance of club culture in the urban fabric.

It is organized by Prof. Dr. Michael Fischer (Director of the ZPKM) and Lorenz Rommelspacher (composer, Cologne and doctoral candidate at the Collège Glarean of the College of Music Freiburg).

Here you can find the program flyer (pdf). Click here for the ZPKM website.
