Christina Caprez: Queer Kids. 15 Portraits - Reading and talk in the series Girl, Woman, Other

A primary school child who knows he is a girl even though he was registered as a boy at birth. A gay teenager in the countryside who is isolated at school and finds like-minded people in the chat. A non-binary activist who confidently shows her "falsesexuality". Many adults react with uncertainty when young people identify as non-binary and new letters are constantly being added to LGBTQIA+. Christina Caprez lets 15 queer children and young people have their say: Alongside impressive portraits by photographer Judith Schönenberger, interviews with professionals from research, social work and medicine frame their stories (Limmat, 2024).

The Swiss author and sociologist will talk about her book project with Carina Utz, managing director of Fluss e.V., an association that provides socio-political education and advice on queer issues in and around Fribourg. Cultural mediator Anna Lee Engel will host the evening.
