Frieder Vogelmann from the University campus Freiburg and Katharina Hoppe from the University of Frankfurt am Main will present their anthology in a panel discussion on January 9, 2025.
The anthology "Feminist Epistemologies. A Reader" attempts to provide an overview of feminist epistemology and philosophy of science. This emerges from lively, interdisciplinary discussions in philosophy and the social sciences. Feminist epistemologists analyze how gender norms affect knowers, criticize the discrimination of female and queer people by dominant knowledge and propose alternatives to common epistemic concepts and practices. Despite all their differences, they are united by the thesis that knowledge is embedded in historically specific social practices and structures that are by no means gender-neutral.
Discussing this will be:
Frieder Vogelmann (University campus Freiburg)
Sabine Flick (PH Freiburg)
Katharina Hoppe (University of Frankfurt am Main)
