BirdsLAND

In the duet BirdsLAND, the new dance theater piece by Cia. Nadine Gerspacher, the two dancers and choreographers Nadine Gerspacher and Jonathan Sánchez explore the question of whether and how true joy can endure in challenging times. The contemporary dance performance, which draws inspiration from swing and tap dance à la Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, is far more than pure hilarity and light entertainment - it delves deep into the essential questions of our humanity: What do we lose of our inner potential when we move away from spontaneity and authenticity? What connections to ourselves and others atrophy when we suppress the playful side of our nature?

BirdsLAND invites us to live in the moment and preserve the inner child - that part of us that is not constrained by convention and has the courage to question everyday routines.

The French composer Jason Del Campo composed the music.
