especially those places that are already well known but deserve a new and

a new and contemporary look.

The journey by photographer Markus Kirchgessner and author Patricia Wohlgemuth

"In Goethe's footsteps" took place by bicycle: The slower journey

made it possible to see new aspects and come into contact with many people

not only in the cities, but also in the countryside. The journey lasted

two months and started in Bolzano and ended in Palermo. It ran partly along a

on a Europe-wide cycle path, the Ciclopista del Sole, but also on side roads,

creating a route in the spirit of Goethe. Through their pictures and texts

Markus Kirchgessner and Patricia Wohlgemuth want to take you to little-known places
