On the trail of the medieval city wall (city tour)

In cooperation with VISTAtour and ARGE Freiburger Stadtbild - Freiburg's history began over 900 years ago. But where has the city wall actually gone, which is part of every medieval city complex? Many believe that the small section of wall on Augustinerplatz is the last remnant of the old fortifications. But a closer look reveals many other relics in unusual and hidden places: In an underground parking garage, in backyards, parks or house walls - or set in concrete in a university building. Even remnants of former city gates and towers have been preserved or archaeologically proven. The tour traces the course of the walls of the old town and finally leads up the Schlossberg to the site where the medieval castle stood. - Registration required.
