In their program GENUESIAN DIARY, Al Dente, a German-Italian band from Freiburg and Genoa, tell of life in the fascinatingly contrasting hometown of Columbus, for centuries a port to the world and gateway for immigrants and emigrants with its maze of narrow old town streets, where the paths of prostitutes and bankers, dock workers and citizens, pensioners and bums cross every day. Joscha Zmarzlik processes his three-year stay in the Ligurian metropolis in these songs. The band moves between genres with relish: jazz, chanson and classical influences mingle, klezmer and bossa tones resonate, prog rock plays on ....
