Classical
7th chamber concert
Sunday, 09/06/2024 / 11:00 AM / Theater Freiburg - Winterer Foyer
The chamber concerts are an absolute affair of the heart for our musicians. They give the audience the opportunity not only to experience the high standard at which music is made in our orchestra, but also to enjoy the instruments, which have to fit into the big picture on the big stage, up close and personal. The programs are as diverse as our colleagues and offer well-known and newly discovered chamber music from the Baroque to the present day. At this chamber concert, almost everything is extraordinary. The instrumentation with string quartet, saxophone and guitar, as well as the program. The sonic worlds of Brazil take center stage at this concert with well-known compositions by Heitor Villa-Lobos and pieces that are less well-known in Europe, such as those by the multi-instrumentalist and veteran of bossa nova Hermeto Pascoal. We can expect a special program of classical music, jazz and Brazilian joie de vivre. With works by Kilza Setti, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Luiz Bonfá, Hermeto Pascoal, Milton Nascimento and Toninho Horta. With Catherine Bottomley, Kyoko Fujii (violin), Robert Woodward (viola), Lusine Arakelyan (cello), Paul Andrew (saxophone), Bruno Nascimento (guitar)
