11 foolish jokes from the Elferrat

In the name and in honor of all guilds and subdivisions, the Herrenelferrat of the Breisgauer Narrenzunft celebrates its 13 x 11th anniversary in 2025.

The Herrenelferrat dates back to 1881, making it one of the oldest groups in the Freiburg Fasnet. On April 13, 1934, the Breisgauer Narrenzunft was founded by merging the Freiburger Große Karnevalsgesellschaft and the old Freiburger Karnevals-Verein. In the same year, the establishment of the Freiburg carnival began with the founding of carnival nests in the individual districts. To this day, the Herrenelferrat is the representative body of the Breisgau Fools' Guild. It is made up of personalities from public life, business and politics.

Despite this honorable task - or precisely because of it - the gentlemen of the Elferrat are always up for a joke and are responsible for many a prank. A small selection of their pranks from past years is presented in the exhibition under the motto "11 foolish jokes of the Elferrat". Have fun!
