The development of right-wing populist resistance in the Weimar Republic will be examined in a workshop on Wednesday, October 22 at 7 pm at the Archbishop's Seminary Collegium Borromaeum, Schoferstraße 1, in Freiburg.

Eugen Schmid, an adult educator from Freiburg, will use exemplary texts to show how democracy, the political establishment, urbanization and foreign influences were criticized at the time. What was called for was not a liberal revolution, but a conservative one, which strove for a national, authoritarian and rural culture. Similar trends are still visible today: the freedom of the people is taking center stage and the search for a so-called authentic life is gaining in importance.
