Spring walk in the Liliental arboretum
WaldHaus (Forest House) Freiburg
In the southern Kaiserstuhl between Ihringen and Wasenweiler lies the "Liliental" forest research site. As part of a circular walk - also off the main paths - we learn about the history of the Liliental, explore the arboretum with exotic tree species from temperate latitudes, such as the famous sequoia trees, and learn a lot about seed orchards, clone testing and the breeding of forest plants.
All-terrain ability, sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing required. Travel on your own, meeting point at 2 p.m. at the fountain in front of the "Lilie" restaurant. Bring snacks and drinks if required, after the tour you can stop off at the "Lilie" restaurant (self-pay).
Lecturer: Albrecht Franke, former forestry director.
