Interdisciplinary panel discussion: (Re)discovering art?
The panel discussion at the archaeological museum "Colombischlössle" will focus on human forms of expression since prehistoric times. Early on, our ancestors created objects that went beyond pure functionality: Figures, symbols and paintings. They raise questions about meaning, aesthetics and function. Are these artifacts "art" in today's sense or merely representations of the visible? The sculptor Tobias Eder, the anthropologist Marion Mangelsdorf and the prehistorian Sybille Wolf will discuss this issue. Stefan Orth, editor-in-chief of Herder Korrespondenz, will moderate the event. Admission is from 6.30 pm. Participation is free of charge. The number of participants is limited.
