European nature photographer of the year

Exhibits
Since it was founded over 50 years ago, the GDT has championed nature photography that is committed to authenticity, nature conservation and high artistic quality. For the 2nd time, the forest house (WaldHaus) is showing a selection of award-winning and breathtaking images from this renowned competition.

These include touching photos of the endangered African forest elephant in central Gabon by Jasper Doest, who won the Fritz Pölking Prize. Mateusz Piesiak's portfolio of the sunflower paradise for wintering birds in his native Poland is also impressive. He was the winner of the Fritz Pölking Youth Prize 2023. The pictures in this exhibition impressively demonstrate the beauty and uniqueness of nature, but also its fragility in the face of the global biodiversity and climate crisis.
