Cello concerto

The Goethe-Institut Freiburg cordially invites you to a summer concert evening entitled "Cello Around the World". The cellist Walter-Michael Vollhardt offers a varied program and is accompanied by Andrea Mele on the piano. Together they will take the audience on a musical journey full of emotion, colorfulness and a summery variety of sounds.

Walter-Michael Vollhardt is a cellist, conductor and music teacher with international experience and has become an integral part of Freiburg's music scene. He has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras worldwide. He is known for his interpretations of romantic and contemporary works, for intercultural improvisations and for his commitment to promoting young talent - especially in Africa and Latin America.

Andrea Mele, born in Sora, Italy, is a versatile pianist who, after working in Spoleto, Rome and Zurich, has been active at Theater Freiburg and the Bregenz Festival since 2014. There he accompanies singers on the piano and supports them in rehearsing their roles.

After the concert, we cordially invite you to join the artists in conversation over a glass of wine.

Admission is free, donations for the musicians are welcome.
